Question Re-use original head bolts after doiong head gaskets?

Should it be ok to re-use the head bolts when I put my heads back on my car after just doing the head gaskets? If so, when wouldn't I re-use them besides the obvious reasons? I'll be putting the heads back on within the next few days and just wanted to know so I can order the bolts now while I'm waiting for the heads to come back from the machine shop. Thanks

Myles

Nope, stockers are stretched most likely. Get some ARPs and you can reuse them.

Who did you buy your ARP's from if you have them and how much were they?

Checker/Kragen/Schucks carries them for like 50 bucks or so. If you don't have any of those around you, then www.summitracing.com
www.jegs.com
any one of those places will have them in stock... figure around 50 bucks or so... while you're at it get some bling bling stainless steel intake manifold bolts for 12 bucks too

I'm going to headers now too while I'm at it and I ordered those stage 8 bolts or whatever they're called so the manifold bolts won't be necessary but thanks anyways and I found the bolts on Jegs for 49.99 woohoo

I already ordered them the other day I might just not use the locker on them if thats possible and just use them as regualr bolts. If any end up giving me problems then I'll use the lockers.
