Rattle at 3K+ rpm
Rattle at 3K+ rpm
I have an issue... might be trading the car in based on what this is.
The car starts fine the first time of the day...once warm has issues cranking over. I found condesation buildup in the drivers side valvecover, but the oil hasnt milkshaked. Car seems down on power slightly, and if you stay below 3,000rpm it sounds fine... once you hit around 3k you hear a very high speed rattle that increases with rpm. I checked my rockers today..they seem fine.. bent pushrod?? Blown head gasket? Im at a loss right now and im looking for suggestions. Thanks.

Re: Rattle at 3K+ rpm
do you still have stock rockers and pushrods?? I wouldn't put it passed a pushrod. What about valve springs...stock??? Does the car loose any power or feel like it loses power??
Need more info please

Re: Rattle at 3K+ rpm
Stock rockers, pushrods and lifters... ex612 springs (none have broken, just checked) Car still feels strong as it did before.. I guess I just havnt pushed it with the rattle.
Stock shift points... so Im not going over 5700rpm (redline). The noise is present at idle but more prominent under load.
