random misfire

Yesterday my car started to random misfire. My guess is that my opti is bad. Does this sound like the problem or could it be something else?

It could be something a little more simple like plugs or wires. Has the car had a tuneup recently?

I put new plugs in it last year. A friend of mine hooked it up to his scan tool and it misfired well over 100 time in a short period of time.
