ran my first track time tonight........

i finally got an official slip.....

14.029 1/4 @100.68mph

not too bad i guess for very minor mods..... I'm through with the exterior now time to get serious under the hood

i raced a friend in a '02 ws6 ram air and beat him by a headlight...... i almost fainted i thought he would've smoked my a$$

but anyways just thought i'd post,

by the way if any of you "pros" in here have any advice on where i should start improving i would appreciate. thanks

Your first mod should be a good catback exhaust, then cold air intake, then headers. They were the best mods I did.

Does a catback exhaust REALLY add to performance?!

I'm told they only add to noise level.

Not trying to start a fight here.... just wondering whether I should spend the $500 or so on a Mufflex 3 1/2 or ATR catback or something else?

I only have 17935 miles on my stock exhaust. It seems a shame to rip it out!

Get a Flowmaster system. I only paid $400 Canadian! And yes, it will be louder, but exhaust is one of the best things you can do.

and yes a catback does add to performance... around ten hp and it sounds much deeper and crisper

nice #'s, got the same setup as you w/ the flows and 3" tips love the sound too, very deep and has a nice rumble if you don't have free mods do em, they should give you a few HP but not too much. if u already got the free mods get a good set of headers. i went 14.0@97 w/cutout closed. just thought you should know. but dont be too surprised about that ram air cuz i beat a share of em too

Either something is wrong with that 02 WS6 or he cant drive. With a good driver and as long as the car isnt a lemon you wouldve gotten beat by him. Not trying to flame but those things are really strong stock. Most run better than 14 in a 1/4 to bone stock. Ive seen some go 13.3's -13.5's and on the street they are much stronger.

good thing there are more bad drivers than good ones. makes you feel good when you can beat an ls1 but know you shouldn't have!! always get a laugh with those people who break their heads cuz they loose to an lt1. but i agree that a good ls1 driver will take an lt1 on the street. seen it happen to many stangs, just waiting for my turn!!!

Are you talking about pulling them on the street or the track. With your stall, gears, and other little mods you may win on the track to a STOCK LS1. But on the street you should be getting pulled on unless they all suck where you live.

With your mph , you should be in the high 13's. I ran a 14.02 @ 99 with my stock Formula.
