Raising the Shift Point

My car currently shifts at about 5500 rpms @ WOT , My tuner said for me to get the full potential of my cam (cc306) I need to take it to higher rpms, so my first question is what do I need to change out besides the stock fuel injectors to take it above 5500 , do I need to change the valve springs out? What is the actual powerband of the cc306? I have read some places that it peaks at 5800 and other people have told me as high as 6500 rpms. Thanks in Advance..

thanks for the link, Well after reading that , I have yet to upgrade to a bigger stall , and my car is definately going to be a daily driver. So that being said , How much higher can I take it and remain in the "safe zone"? Will I need to change out anything other than upgrading the injectors to 30#, Also not ssure if it matters but im running on stock 2.73 gears

I wouldn't take a stock bottom end on a LT1 past 6400-6500. But that is just me.

Oh, and different gears wouldn't hurt anything !

Im not sure if the valve springs were changed out when the cam was installed, I'm trying to find that out now. But would I need to change them out?

Depends. I would say that if you still had stock springs in there, the engine wouldnt be running very long, if at all. Who did the mods in your sig to this car ? That is where I would start. If the correct valve springs were not put in there, then by all means, get them !

Have you had the car on a dyno?

From a dyno graph you would be able to tell when to shift your car.

the only way to correctly change your shift rpm is to recalibrate the computer. 95 is one of the best years, they used flash programming. check out tunercat. they have all the software to do it. then go to moates.net and get a cable. here's what you can change with your pcm. http://www.tunercat.com/pdfs/pcm_$ee.pdf
