Raising Rev Limiter
Raising Rev Limiter
Is there any benifit to rasing the rev limiter on my pretty much stock car. I was think that i might bump it up to about 6,000 or 6100. My car only has 53,000 miles on it and dont want to hurt my motor but just a few hundred RPM's dont seem like it would be too hard on the motor. Thanks for any help.

Yyea... rev limiters are there for a reason...
Look at Toyota and the early celicas... they had the limit too high straight from the factory...owners blowing their engines left and right
But I won't try to compare GM/Toyota,.... don't want to get banned...

I have an a4 automatic. Mine usually shifts 5700-5800, although ocasionally it has gone to like 6000. I am thinking when I do my gears and pcmforless to bring it back down to 5700. I have heard of other stock peepes to take it that high.
