Raising motor and tips for pacesetter lt install?

I'd like to hear tips from people that have installed these themselves. Go in from the top? From the bottom? Recommend moving things out of the way such as dip stick or steering knuckle?
Is it necessary to raise the motor a few inches? If so what ways would you recommend raising the motor with out a picker? I've looked around seems like there are two ideas floating around there. Neither have me too thrilled. First is to jack on the oil pan using a board with a towel on it. Second is to jack on the hub or balancer.

Both sides go in from under the car, the driver side you need to undo the steering knuckle to get it in. It was pretty easy and made access to the plugs simple. I found dropping the starter gave extra wiggle room too. Also have to remove the oil dipstick and getting it back in was just a matter of remembering how you took it out. I had to turn it under the AC lines to get it out and then back in.

Thanks for the reply. Got the headers, EGR, AIR, and steering column off today and will get the starter and dipstick tomorrow. That AIR pipe was a huge pita. Good grief.

That's one of the reasons I got rid of the egr and air. I got ways around emission testing so wasn't to concerned about it. One more word of advice for you, pacesetter coats the inside of their headers with that cheap black paint, make sure that burns off before installing the O2 sensors. Ask me how I know =).

haha I didn't know that. They'll be used pacesetters though so they should be good.
