radiator? shoebox

OK, some wire/connector came unglued or came off. It's on the pass. side under the hoses that come back to the radiator. It's an off white square piece that has a wire come off of it and the hole is about the diameter of a pinky finger. WTF is it? and will I need to get a new radiator or will JB weld hold it?

Yep, it's the low ccolant sensor. Just for the light on your dashboard. I am not sure what came off off what, if the whole fitting to hold the sensor came off out of the radiator, then you either get a new radiator, glue the fitting back in (with something that can stand hot coolant or you plug the hole up with something else that can stand hot coolant. The sensor is only there for the light, if you don't care about the light, you can get rid of it.

tell me if this sounds right. I justed called a radiator place here in BR and he told me to just buy a new sensor and it snaps in place and thats all that needs to be done. He said that the rubber ring holds it in place so I wouldn't need any glue. It seems too easy

I just replaced my radiator. I had to reuse the old sensor, the sensor should fit back in the hole, it has a little metal clip that goes around it, just snap it on and your finished. Very easy

The sensor is a square piece with a piece of tube attached to it which has two O-rings around it. Inside the "tube" there is a little metal prong.
On the radiator, there is a fitting that looks like a tube that fits the "tube" on the sensor. Like was said earlier, the sensor slides in the tube and is then "locked" with a little metal clip around it.
With this info, you should be able to figure out what piece belongs to what and if the radiator is damaged.
