Racetronix pump/plug n pray harness
Racetronix pump/plug n pray harness
$250 + and no instructions whatsoever???
Seems kinda steep now that i've received the unit and find no instructions. Unit looks great - i'm sure it works great but damn - take an hour out of your time to put something together to assist with installs for that price.
I call Thunder and it's "Well, most people just figure it out" For that kinda coin I shouldn't have to "figure it out" - there's 20 foot of freaking wires with harnesses and who knows what else.
I'm sure it's probably not that difficult to install but jeez I would think that kinda money spent you'd be able to afford a sheet of paper for each box that you send out.
Say, can I get a discount on some injectors if I do a write up with pics on the install?
Overall - great service from TR, nice looking product from Racetronix!!
HAD to find something to complain about since they shipped it on time, packaged it nice, and are a great company to deal with (both of them).

Re: Racetronix pump/plug n pray harness
Been stated lots of times, apparently the excuse is, "We dont want to print out old instructions, just e-mail us"
I dont know about you, but I seriously don't think fuel pump instructions change quite frequently.

Yeppers - just found this. I was pretty much joking but seriously - there should be instructions included. Injectors plug straight in - I can see why they wouldn't come with instructions but this bundle of wiring, relays, clips, unassembled harnesses, freaking GLUE???, and other stuff it makes no sense not to package instructions. What would need updated?
Hope there's a warranty against faulty installations due to no help installing. I like the other advise that TR gave me "Take it to a shop" For what? Do they have the instructions? Why do they have the instructions and not the person who bought the pump? Who's to say the shop is better at "figuring stuff out" than I am? LOL - somewhat comical. I just hope this thing is as good as advertised.

It'll be cool - just puzzling. No biggie - can't wait to get it installed this weekend.
Are these pumps louder than stock?
Looks like a pretty stout lil unit here - i'm stoked now.

Re: Racetronix pump/plug n pray harness
Mine is a bit louder than stock when priming, other than that, no other noises than stock, I got a Walbro 255 lph. Didn't order from racetronix though, to be honest, the way he comes on this board, he seems like a *****. You'll be happy with it
Re: Racetronix pump/plug n pray harness
in my dealings with customer service related to autoparts I found out that is a hit and miss. My local parts stores employ women who in most part do a great job telling what replacement part you need and the price... once you have a problem they dont want to deal with it and call a guy who is probably helping someone else.
I have driven twice the distance to visit a particular autoparts store only because there has got to be the most knowledabel, respectuful, helpful guy I have ever encountered in my 42 years. The guy is great to work with.. I wanted to give him a commendation to his supervisor and he turned out to be the store manager helping the sales guys... wearing the regular uniform.
When it comes to Autoparts stores or sales over the internet.. there is no accountability or at least it seems like it. My biggest pet peeve is the un-answered Emails. Even one of the coolest guy recomended on this website failed to even Acknowledge emails from me. Something as simple as whats your stimated delivery date or price check. What ever their excuse be... if they are unable to answer an email... they should not list an Email address. Its misleading and no excuse is a good excuse.
When you are given no instructions or the answer be "you will figure it out" to me its just downright scary. What if you figure it out wrong and screw things up? who is acountable? The blame is on you for an unfinished product, that you paid for and got stranded for lack of instructions. In that situation I say to my self... is my money they want but not my busines....I hope they are listening by the way, they should be looking for a repeat customer not just to get the cash out of you now. Also I have heard some guy at the store say... any idiot can figure it out, behind a customers back. Offensive to say the least. In the industry I work for, if youre heard saying such a thing you are immediatelly terminated.
If there was plenty of competition for a given product I would defenetely see an improvement in customer service. I think, or I hope.

All i did was email racetronix. They gave me more info than i would ever need on installing the pump, flushing the tank, and other specific questions i had. Also they were very quick with their response.

That is awesome. now why wouldnt they put the info in a page and send it with their product? well at least they were prompt to help. That is what standard routine in customer service should be all about. To help their customer. And they did just fine.
Nice you posted your experience.
