Thumbs up Racetronix Pump & Harness is teh Schizzle

Jack,

I just wanted to say thanks for making such a high quality pump kit.

I just completed the first part of the install, got the new pump in the bucket (waiting on the glue to dry overnight) and installed the harness. The harness was extremely easy to install (no cutting or splicing whatsoever) and was top notch in quality. Truly plug and play. Anyone who gripes about the price of the harness is crazy.

How long did it take you to install from start to finish?

Thanks!

It is hard to express the quality of the system and especially the harness via pictures on the web. One must actually have it in their hands to really appreciate the workmanship and quality of components used to manufacture the system.

Hehe no kidding, my fuel pump wasn't keeping up past 5k RPM with my mods, the fuel pressure would start to drop (Good thing for electric fuel pressure guage LOL), anyways, when I got the kit I was amazed at the quality, today I figured let me try to install just the harness without the fuel pump, MAN!!!!!!!!!! first off my voltage is much higher on the cluster guage, it would stay at around 13 & lower, when I would log it would show 12.8 at times, today my voltage is at 14.78 at the alternator & over 14 volts in the system as the cluster shows, the fuel pressure stays at 43 PSI & doesn't drop all the way to 7000RPM not even a slight drop, this is with the stock pump & their harness, I figured before the pump didn't have enough power going through the system wiring & because the load is right at the alternator the voltage regulator sees that more so then if the pump is drawing current somewhere down the sytem & compensates charging at 14.78 instead of high 13's which is awesome, the pump works perfect, so even their harness alone can fix your pressure drop problems !!! & I wouldn't do it myself because the harness quality is just spectacular using Aviation wiring & aviation MIL SPEC relay, some good stuff guys. I figured since now I don't need to change the pump I'll let it seat here & be all new until the stocker dies, for now its 100%.

I'm starting to ramble now.
Matt.

I've got tha harness & pump sitting here for my new 383 setup, but I'm not looking forward to installing it...I really don't feel like dropping my tank.

No pain... no gain
It's not all that bad once you get into it.

I did mine through the top via an access panel I cut last year when I accidentally blew the evap line off the top of the tank with an air hose. DOH!. I dont care what anyone says, the access panel is the way to go. I worked on mine ~2 1/2 hrs and I take my time.

I remember reading about an access panel last year when my stock pump went out in my car. I found it on a search.

I'm sure I could pull this info from a search, but what's involved in dropping the tank in 45 minutes? Doesn't sound so bad.

It's just that this is something else that has to be done ON TOP OF getting my engine finished being built, and the front of the car put back togother...

ditto on the system. I droped my tank also the hardest part was bending the filler neck to slide the tank off. It took me 45min. to shave that down the area it was rubbing against (probably wasn't useing the right tool). Then a friend used a big crow bar to bend it while I slide it out.

-you have to remove your catback
-panhard bar
-sway bar
-shocks and springs on the pass. side.
...that's all I can remember right now.
