Racenet Intake Manifold

I noticed that racenet sells ported intake manifolds that are matched to their 58mm tbs and their cylinder heads. My Q: What would happen if I dropped the racenet mainfold and tb on a mostly stock engine? Would I see any gains? Is this a cheap and easy means of hp? I'm just scared away by the work of headers. But, before you start saying, "Don't be a wuss, get headers," let me know what good this intake manifold would be. Thanks-

those mod's that you want to do would be good with a head job, sorry to tell ya that, if yr engine isnt pulling more air then why do the mod, IMO

I'm running all my mods & I just opened my intake up for a 58mm TB but the ports are stock, I doubt porting them will benifit me even though my heads flow 287 on the intake I'm sure the intake ports flow more than that, I mean the head port opening might be bigger but in the bowl area its gonna be smaller than the intake port anyways, so I left it stock & doubt think it'd be wise of me to port them, I dunno

I wouldn't recommend doing business with Racenet based on my past experience with them.

You won't see any gains on stock heads. In fact, it might get worse because the intake ports are enlarged, but your heads' intake ports are still stock (narrow), and the air will hit the edges of the port on your head. Look at this pic. It shows the Racenet ported intake ports compared to a stock intake. The stock shape is "trapezoidal" and it matches the intake port on your stock heads. After porting it is rectangular (gasket matched).

My engine builder said porting in the intake manifold would be worthless. That is on 355 Xe 230/236, and ported heads car. He said to spend my money elsewhere.

He said the manifold as good as is.
