A guy that goes to college with me has a sleeper Camaro. It's a Z28 but I always thought it was a V6 until last week when I finally got to talking with him about his car. I'm not sure what muffler he has, but I'll ask him and get back to you. It sounds just like a V6. Has all the badges off and everything. He popped his hood and he had a K&N CAI, MSD, shorties, and a few other little things. I was surprised that he had those headers on there sounding so quiet. I need to find out what muffler setup he's doing. Anywho, he has a few stories on how he busted a few V6's cause they thought he had a V6 too. LOL

Detroit808 asked what the "QUIETEST" muffler is. If I'm assuming correctly, he doesn't care if it's extremely restrictive because he's going to be using a cutout. Not sure on what brand exactly would make your car exhaust silent though.

Magnaflow!!! A friend of my sons has them on his 96 3.8 camaro. I don't know if the V8 system is different but on a V6 the Magnaflow system with Pacesetter headers is louder than hell.
I also had them on a bigblock duster I had for about a week. Too loud, had to come off.

i too am looking for a quiet muffler...
the only thing is:
i have a loudmouth bullet right off the ORY, and a 3" cutout right after that... will there be any problem trying quiet that exhaust down after the bullet? i mean, i want it to be hella quiet when the cutout is closed and hella loud when that puppy is open..
whatchu think?

Here is the hooker catback with Hooker LT's and mufflex y.

Here it is with the cutout open, you can see the hooker exhaust quiets it down quite a bit.
