Quick Vaccuum Question

Ok, couple of questions.

With a larger cam with a lot of overlap, is a choppy map line (in datamaster) normal???? I'm pulling a steady but wavering 9-10 In/Hg at idle, and it's reflected in my datalogs.

Second question, how much vaccuum is necessary for proper operation of the brakes??? I've seen it discussed before, but there really hasn't been mention of a threshold of where a support system is necessary.

There's still a LOT of tuning to be done, so I'm not so concerned about it at this point, just covering my bases.

Sean:

If I had saved my logs on Datamaster, I'm sure my MAP curve would look like yours. I don't see it as being a problem.

9-10"/Hg is a bit low, so you might want to consider running a spare vacuum canister. Even with my honker of a bumpstick (although I'm sure your LSA is a bit narrower than my 112) on stock heads, I'm getting between 11 and 12"/Hg at idle. Brakes are less-than-desirable, but still strong enough to remain comfortable in a daily driving situation.
