Quick stall and gears questions

What will 3.73's and a stall do to my gas mileage? The reason I don't specify the stall is because thats my next question? How high can/should I go on my car running the mods I have now, but expecting more mods in the future like h/c or maybe a new motor? And my last question is what will the difference be with these as far as launch and upper end speeds?
Thanks

I'm running 3.42's w/ a 3000 stall and basic bolt-ons (doing long tubes and duals next week). Takes off faster than my friends typhoon from a stop with him at 10+ lbs., but still has great top end. I do have a lot of suspension goodies but only street tires. I like the combo a lot. Gas mileage went down 2-3 after the changes, but I think some of that is the tune.

When you say you think the gas mileage drop is because of your tune, do mean that your tune isn't properly set for your mods so it's screwing things up?

I'm sure there will be a slight decrease in the gas mileage, but nothing severe. As for the stall, for your mods, a 2800-3000 would be an appropriate range. Don't forget to add a tranny cooler as well to combat the extra heat the new converter will add to your tranny.

Tranny coolers are cheap, around fifty bucks. As for the stall converter, which brands are you looking at? Yank and Precision Industries makes some of the best, but also the most expensive. Companies like Fuddle, Edge, and Midwest sell theres for a pretty affordable amount.

When you say your mpg went down probably because of your tune, do you mean your tune isn't properly set for your application?
