Quick question water pump removal.

I need to get my water pump off so that i can replace it because it is leaking. I got all the hoses off and everything out of the way. I got the left side of the water pump off and now i am having trouble with the right side. I got 2 long screws out and a nut. There is nothing left to unscrew. I noticed that there is a bracket that holds the air pump and it seems to overlap one of the waterpump holes.

I was wondering how do i get the water pump off the rest of the way, do i need to get the air pump and its bracket off or not?

You have to take the air pump bracket off. Once you do that then you will see that the nut you took off allready was threaded onto a studded bolt that is holding the water pump in. Once that's out it should come off.

My advice would be to get a new water pump. The gaskets may not fix the leak, so all the work would be a waste of time.

Yes, get a new pump after going thru the trouble to get that one off, chances are its the pump leaking anyway if it has amount of miles on it.
When putting on the new pump, do not install the thermostat and housing until after everything else is bolted up, then fill the water pump/block with coolant thru the open thermostat, which will prime the pump.
I found this out the hard way since I was accustomed to SBCs where you just fill the radiator and go...the LT1 pump will have an air pocket in it if dome this way and won't prime and will over heat.
