Hey guys im in the middle of a cam swap and im stick. Im running an EWP and I converted to a double roller so I need to block of the hole in the timing cover which im going to do a freeze plug and jb weld but what about the hole in the block where the gear used to go, does it need to be blocked off to?

No need to plug the hole in the block.

you'll get mixed opinions on this. you could leave it unplugged and be fine... just more oil on timing chain. Some people say that not plugging it though will drop your oil pressure. I plugged mine cause it took less than 5 minutes.

I blocked mine off because I had an extra freeze plug (1.25") and figured it'd keep oil moving in the same fashion as the stock setup (not through the bearing).

I used a 1.25" disc-style plug, staked in 3 spots around the edge so it doesn't wiggle out and sealed up with RTV gasket-maker.

How would it change oil pressure? no pressure goes to it.

I wouldn't waste my time pugging it......it will be fine
