Quick question on adjusting valves. PLZ HELP :)

I'm going to adjust a ticking valve tomorrow, and I'm just wanting to get a few opnions..

It's (as far as I know) a completely stock 94 Z28 drive train.
It's got stampped rockers with what are probably not poly-locks..
It's on the driver side, and I'm sure I've got it down to one cylinder.
I'm going to adjust it while it's idling...

I just want to confirm something about possible oil splattering.

I've been told by MY91Y84:
"at 1000 rpms' the oil pressure is only 6 psi so at idle oil isnt gonna go everywere...it actually only gets on your hands"

I've also read in this forum, and have been told by my dad (who has built many engines) that it's gonna squirt all over the place..

I can take preventions like making a tinfoil wall to hold some in, but if I need to get rocker clips, please tell me possible locations to get them. I live near pepboys, napa, discount, advance, congress, etc, etc.. And is there a technical name for them?

I'm just mainly looking to find out whether the oil is gonna dribble like some say, or if I'm gonna get sprayed in the face when I go and pull off the cover (after starting it and letting it reach idle duh)

Thanks in advance guys..

I doubt its a ticking valve, maybe a lifter.

There aren't any polylocks on the stock rocker arms, luckily I had them with my heads & cam swap, maybe somebody will chime in with the proper method with factory arms.

Check a Haynes manual if you have one.

Anyway... TTT for you.

Id imagine that your old man hasnt put together to many LT1's...The GEN 1 SBC's idle oil pressure was between 15 and 18 Psi...and yes it would be messy, but not like youd think....a little buring on the header would be about it...

LT1 idle oil pressure is less then 6 pounds, so its even "cleaner".....as far as oil dribbling out of the pushrods or squirting out in a solid stream, my lifters are doing both, dunno why, but there all getting oil...even when squirting out its not to bad..

Well.. Thanks guys..

You are right.. My "old man" is just that.. An old man. And he has never touched an LT1.. Too bad for him.. I'll just take as many precautions as I can..

I'm gonna go tackle this in about 20 minutes, so I'll let you know if I recreate the exxon valdez accident...

You were absolutely right..

It just sort of constantly dribbled (more or less)..

All I had to do was make a tinfoil wall to keep the oil from flowing over the heads lips..

The ticking wasnt what I thought it was (out of wack valve/lifter/pushrod/rocker/etc), so I started a new thread asknig what else it could be..

Thanks again for your help guys.
