quick question about sercurity feature..

i was just fishin and a storm set in and when i got back to my car my buddy and i hopped in real quick and we tried to start up the car and it wouldnt turn over wouldnt do anything.... so i cut teh key back and look at the dash and it says security...that light stayed on for about 2 minutes and then it turned off and it let me start the car...any idea as to what would have caused this security light to come on ...

i dunno, maybe your key got wet and it affected the the resistor on it, which triggered the anti-theft device which shuts the car down for about 3 mins or so if you tried to start it with the wrong key.

dirt key, or worn anti theft module. If I were you I would replace the module or you can be like me and doing surgery in a walmart parking lot riping apart the intire dash just so you don't have to get screwed by a tow truck.
