quick Q. Hub removal help

ill try be quick with this one.
usin shoebox's guide

im at the part where i need to remove the hub, i cant get it off, i used the search button and i found that i would need to buy a larger bold and put it in the place where the old bolt is and then use a claw puller.

was wondering if this is true or can i just use the same bolt, also where can i find a larger bolt with the same threads?? i went to home depot and they said they didnt have any. thanks alot.

yes you need a longer "crank bolt" to put in the threads while pulling it. a claw puller wont do it, you need a HUB puller. (availabe at your local auto parts store)

the longer bolts should be available at any place that sells bolts

the bolts that came with my hub puller would not work, i had to buy a longer version of the 3 balancer bolts.
that was the hardest part of my heads/cam install.

Yes, you should be using a hub/balancer puller to remove the hub. The three bolts are the same size thread as head bolts (I use 3 old medium length bolts). You can use a longer bolt or something smaller in diameter that will fit in the hole and bottom out, but it must be something very strong (if not, it will bend and wedge itself in there-then you will have bigger problems).

i tried all of that and still got nothing... everyone was really quick to help out but it just wasnt working for me i ended up using an acetylene torch to heat it up and then i tapped it off with a hammer. but using a torch ruins your front seal so youll need to replace it.

thanks again to everyone who helped me out when i had this problem.
