Quick Heater bypass, if heater hose breaks.
Quick Heater bypass, if heater hose breaks.
Like anyone gives a dookie..My bottom heater core hose busted & I was tinkering with some hoses lying around. I had an extra lower driver side radiator hose lying around, you know that skinny kinda curvy long one. I took my heater hoses off the water pump and used that spare driver side lower hose and placed the 5/8 side to the bottom end of the water pump inlet and the 1/2 side to the upper outlet of the water pump. You kinda have to weave it around the radiator cap hose and upper radiator but it fits perfect. The bend in this hose works perfect for this bypass if you happen to break down. If your like me...in the side panels I carry extra hoses, tools, a water jug and plug wires to be on the safe side.
Reason why I posted this is because I tried using a straight hose that you buy by the inch at pepboys or kragens and it would either hit the alternator or have multiple kinks..so the driver side lower hose works pretty good and thought I'd share a quick fixy.
