quick disconnect steering wheel?

I am putting an aftermarket steering wheel on my car (momo) and I figured it would be kinda cool and maybe somewhat of a theft deterrent if I put a quick release hub with i.. has anyone done this with a 4th gen? Any negatives to doing this on a street/strip car?

I did it with a Grant kit that allows the horn to work. I guess if you travel a lot it's a good idea. I never use it. Keep in mind that it pushes the wheel closer to you by about 2 or 3 inches. I found the location marked on the hub was wrong so I had to install it twice. I also didn't want the air bag light on so I removed the coil from the column and taped it to the firing mechanism and stuck them under the dash. Now the lights for the air bag come on during test and go out just like they should.

One other thing, later the wires for the VATs that goes to the ignition switch wore through and the car wouldn't start. I bypassed it with a resistor at the base of the column. The wire wore through cause the SRS coil was removed.

See ya
