Hey all, I finally need a new clutch after 14 years of abuse. I did a search and found that most were buying the autozone kit for the pressure plate and alignment tool, and buying an aftermarket disk. Is this still true, and which companies will currently sell just a disk? I think I'm going to have the stock flywheel resurfaced. Thanks!

McLeod makes a DF disc which for your H/C car would work better than a stock organic disc

All clutch companies use the same china clone PP for the LT1 so just buy the AZ kit and buy the McLeod disc. $175 for disc IIRC

or maybe one of the clutch companies has a sale making their LT1 kit with a DF disc cheaper. Competition Clutch 2500 was $300. Not endorsing it but that may be the cheapest if you want a DF disc

 

Which components you get, it's recommended that you get the flywheel and pressure plate balanced.
