Quick ? about blocking egr

I have jet hot LT and I am getting an exhaust leak and I think it maybe due to the egr not fully tightened up. If I wanted to block off the egr could I just take RVT and a dime and block off the hole from the header and also block off the other end for the egr? I know it sounds like a half *** job but would that work? Has anyone done this? Help me out here

A little more to it than that... Not much though. First the lines you are talking about is the AIR circut. You can plug them on the headers like you said...but you must also plug the tube(s) as well. If you want to do it right remove them. They run to a flange on the back of the intake that looks like this (o O o). Two nuts and its off. Take the bracket and plug the big hole in the middle and silicone it back on. You also will need to unplug the air pump harness so it doesn't run....or just remove the pump. You can leave your EGR valve on but disconnect the vacuum hose running to it and plug the hose.....YOUR DONE!!! Sounds like a lot of work but its really pretty simple.
If he is talking about the back of the intake manifold, he is talking about the EGR feed pipe. It has nothing to do with the A.I.R. system at all and you are confusing the issue.

You need some EGR block off plates....

They can be found here... http://www.mycamaroz28.homestead.com/

Or you can make your own out of something that can with stand the heat.
