Is chrome moly just much stronger that it can be thinner?
Also, what the hell is the "extreme duty brace?" Just more marketing or what?
Is the standard one fine or what?

The standard one is mild steel. Yes, it's fine. Chromemoly is stronger so a bar with less weight can be the same strength. I don't know about the Extreme duty brace. You could check BMR's website for more info.
