Re: Question with weekend project

You might want to change plugs. Make sure you have some never-sieze, some dialectric grease. Tie wraps, maybe a few of the high heat insulating boots to protect any wires close to the headers so you don't get to do wires over again if you burn a couple up. You may want to squirt the bolts down with Liquid Wrench a day or two before to dissolve any rust. Maybe some other heat shielding for the heater box or starter motor. You might want mechanix gloves, maybe bandaids. Don't forget a shot of courage for whenyou reach that over-the-half-way-mark when you begin to have doubts and you just wish it was back the way it was before you started.

What are you using for a Y pipe? The stock one?

Thanks for the reply.
No im planning on doing a true dual setup. Not sure yet if i want to go through and X pipe or if i should go straight pipes from the header.

Re: Question with weekend project

I'm in the same boat as you, a weeks away from the install though... Some thing which may/may not be tricky:

AIR fittings. Are you deleting the Air system? If so have the bolts ready, if not, be ready to wrench at em to get em off the stock maniflolds

I keep hearing the dipstick tube is a pain to do, have some sandpaper ready so you can grind it down a bit so it fits (This is just from some other posts, I have no idea how that part works yet lol)

Mechanics gloves for me will be a must... I've worked on my car enough to know that this job will have the potentially for a lot of blood loss

Have a good selection of tools too, it's always that 1 bolt which you can't quite get at at the right angle, that is always the cause of 80% of your time...

Good luck! Let us know how it goes

Good luck. The lift will come in hand. The car has to be pretty high up if you don't have one.
