Question about welding in subframes

My brother bought a new Lincoln Electric MIG welder. We have been practicing a lot recently and feel confident about welding in ourselves. If we do weld them on, do we weld it with the car jacked up, on the ground, with the suspension loaded, ect....? I would hate to do this and have them mess up the frame or whatnot cause the car wasnt jacked right when we installed them...

Keep the suspension loaded and make sure you put wet rags around the area thats being welden or you can start your interior on fire.

Load the suspension. Wrap and watch the fuel lines and hold them back while welding. Don't weld in one place for too long. Make sure you've ground the paint away at the weld points on both surfaces. Just be careful and you're golden.

cut a coke can and put it over the fuel lines on the driver side while your welding.

burning the fuel lines ain't a good thing.

BMR Subframes

I had a guy that knows his stuff weld them for me at a local auto repair shop. Cost me $100.00. I was amazed at how close the front weld on BMR boxed units is to the fuel lines on the drivers side. The lines are plastic, made me nervous. The guy had me sit in the car with a fire extinguisher handy.
