Question about switching oil

Ok so i got a case of 5w 30 syn mobil 1 oil for x-mas. I have been running 10w 30 since i got the car last year she has 95,000 miles on her

So when i do the oil change can i use the 5w 30 syn?
Should anything special be done with this change?

Well I just switched it, the car is supposed to have 5w30 to begin with, especially in winter time where the thinner oil will provide more protection.

Just switch it, I have been doing it, no problems yet.

Dyno oil and synethic are fully compatible, you can switch anytime.

I think the only issue you would have would be existing oil leaks. They're clogged up with conventional oil so full synthetic will leak out much quicker.

Correct me if I'm wrong here guys....

I switched from conventional to partial synthetic because I have the typical rear intake oil leak and worried about this issue, myself. So far my oil pressure has stayed higher than conventional oil and I haven't noticed any odd oil drop, either. So far so good!

I have seen these tests done before but they never tell you what kind of oil was in the car before or how long it was in. I guess if you went from k-mart's blue light special oil that was 7,000 miles old to brand new royal purple, you probably would see a gain in horsepower. I would like to see them put brand new Mobil 1 in do a dyno run then put in royal purple.
