Question about stall conveter.
If I understand this right if you get say a 2800 stall converter that means the car will not move until you hit 2800 RPM's right? Well, I would like to get one since they are basic must bolt on for an automatic but I was wondering how are they for daily driving? Does taking off at 2800 RPM+ from every red light get tiring after a while? My Z28 is my daily drivier not a strip car.
The car will move before 2800 RPMs. It's just that the throttle response will be mushy.
I have had a generic 2500 stall then I bought a 2800 Vigilante. No problems here. Wish I'd gone with the 3200. (Actually ordered a 3200 but Tbyrne sent the 2800.

So like Pro/Street said, depends on how much power you have. I believe most TCs are rated at "near stock" levels, so that should help. The companies can also judge by how much power you have, how a TC will stall. Most companies can suggest a good TC based on your current and future mods.
Basically, you'll be revving it a little more to get it going. I think the stock TC stall speed is 1700 RPMs or something, if that helps.
a stall is a great mod. but i would recommend trying to find someone in your town that has a vehicle with a stall in it and going for a ride. it is very difficult to explain what it does. its almost like having and automatic with a clutch. except you can't control it. but then again that doesn't make much sense either.
