question about ls1 brake upgrade
Yes, I think it is.
A couple of times, on my stock brakes, I had to make an emergency stop, but no matter how hard I pushed the pedal, the car just came rolling to a stop. On dry pavement I couldn't even get the ABS to kick in.
Now that's all changed!

Here's the completed brake install:

Here's the only tricky part of the LS1 Brake Upgrade ... modifying the bracket to point "out" instead of "up"
Here's a closeup pic.

To do this, remove the bracket from the car and cut a one inch slot down the middle of it. Then I put it in a vise and used a hammer to bend it down almost 90 degrees.
Then you'll need to bend the metal brake line to match the bracket. Bend it gently 90 degrees by pushing the lowest part of the line toward the center of the car (I put a pipe behind it to bend the line at a gentle curve .. don't kink it!) Try to get it to look like the picture above and you'll be all set!

http://store.yahoo.com/speedautomotive/ They are a F-body salvage yard.
Also, http://www.tacreationsusa.com I don't know if they will ship, but i'm pretty sure they had some in stock. As for guides, i'm not quite sure. I was looking for a good one myself. I'm probably just going to do it and see what happens.

Mikey, those look great! What kind of paint did you use?
Steve, They are well worth the money. Night and day difference.
I would recomend TA Creations. Thats where I got mine. They were the last set when I called. When I put them in both spindles were bent.(couldnt tell until they were installed) They sent me new ones no questions asked. Very helpfull. Good luck and enjoy.

I thought about going the ls1 route and then I decided to go the c5 route. I've been extremely impressed. My friends with ls1 cars are impressed by the brakes as well. Took me about 8 hours to do both sides (should have been 4).
Chris at nashville speed had the brackets, not sure if there is a source anymore.

I went the C5 route also. I bought the brackets from Bob Bishop (lateapex). He is the person that designed and builds the brackets that Nashville speed was selling.
The C5 and LS1 calipers are basically the same caliper....the advantage of the C5 setup over the LS1 setup is the larger rotor.
