Question about factory speedometer
Question about factory speedometer
My car origionally came with all season tires and there for the speedometer only read up to 180/kph (115/mph in US) . It was speed limited to 110mph
. My question is, how would I go about installing a new factory instrument panel- one with the 240/kph (160/mph) speedometer ? I know it's not as easy as just changing the panel 'cause the pointer would be way off the numbers. Can anyone suggest anything? So far NOBODY has had any idea what steps I should take. There must be SOMBODY out there who knows. Anybody? .... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Ps. It's for a '93 LT1 Formula. It's Canadian so the speedo is in KPH.

I am not sure how to answer your question. Head over to www.speeddensity.org an ask it. That board is for the 93 model year. Somebody over there may know.

I'll check them out...
you just need to get the guage overlay cluster that replaces the factory 115mph one and get the PCM reprogrammed for the change.
You could leave the computer untouched and watch the speedo go faster than you are going just for kicks and giggles.
