Cool Question about exhaust. Can it be improved?

I currently have everything stock in my exhaust with the exception of a flowmaster muffler. I had the guy cut off the old one and put in the flowmaster with the stock pipes and tips. Is there anything else I can do to improve the sound/performance of this set up, or is the muffler all I need?

p.s. I'm not interested in a cutout at this point.

well, yeah...just about anything. Headers, off road pipe, Long tube headers and dual exhaust...there are many options out there. Do a search for exhaust and you will be swamped with info.

I heard that getting a 3" pipe from the cat to the muffler would help too.

Can you explain what an offroad pipe is?

So if you replace your cats with offroad pipes, I assume they are not emissions legal?

That is correct. Another option is hollowing out the cats, but the exhaust makes a weird noise while going through a hollow cat. I'd stick with your muffler, get a 3in. pipe from the cat to the muffler, and then maybe get a high flow cat if you want to keep it emissions legal. If you want to go a little further, then you can get headers and the rest of your exhaust will already be set up for it.

I personally like the sound of the hollow cats in the T/A I'll be buying, but to each his own. Definatley try to hear the different options in person before you set to work.

best mod you can do if your keeping you exhaust stock is to buy a SLP Lm, its a good sounding catback, if you plan on doing mods in the future the Lm tends to get really loud, can buy a used one for 200 bucks or less sometimes
