Question about comp 306

Quick question. I know a lot of you are running the comp 306 cam. Is it possible to run it in a stock head/piston LT1? I've always thought it was, but the tech guy at comp said no. Details below.

I ask because I bought a 383 stroker with KB -12cc pistons and stock/home ported heads running 10.5:1 compression with the hotcam in it. I want to throw the 306 in there for now untill next winter when I go custom grind and some AFR heads. I called the guy at comp to make sure the lift wasn't gonna be too much and slap a piston with the valve. He told me the 306 is not compatible with a stock LT1 and that the clearance is for me to figure out.

Well, before I pull the heads to check with clay and a micrometer and all that BS I thought I'd ask you guys. p.s. this will be with 1.6 rr's also.

you'll be fine. piston to valve doesnt start becoming an issue until 60x lift and/or under a 112 lsa

thanks for the back up. I thought I would be fine, but when numb nuts over at comp said it wouldn't work in a stock LT1 I got all paranoid and decided to double check everything. Thank you for the help
