Question about Accel DFI Gen VI...

I am building a solid roller 383 with lots of spray for my 1994 Trans AM right now.
I started getting all the complimentary items for the build up (12-bolt, nasty tranny, etc...) and I began thinking about an aftermarket computer system. I definately can't afford a GEN VII right now (I believe with all bells/whistles like 3500), so I began researching the GEN VI. I can get this system for a really good price (~400 shipped) and just had a few questions before purchasing.

How beneficial is an aftermarket fuel/spark computer system for tuning on big horsepower cars?

Does this setup completly eleviate the stock PCM to where you remove the OBD1 PCM and all associated wiring?

How nice is something like this to have on a 300-350 shot nitrous car?

Can a system like this work with the Delteq ignition system?

I did some searching on here, but didn't really get the answers I was looking for.
