right now a buddy of mine and i are pulling my engine out the top. we have everything cleared and ready, except for disconnecting the fly and the converter. (the bolts are on there hella tight!) any ideas on how to get them appart? also, is it possible to just pull the the engine and converter but not the tranny without breaking that shaft in the tranny? (i dont want to pull tranny too)
thanks alot.

how do you mean hard? hard as in breaking them apart or hard because of the limited space?
i was thinking that what ill do is pull the engine forward fiirst to break apart the tranny and converter. (being careful and making sure that we pull it out straght.) then just pull out the motor.

we tried that too. we used a breaker bar. its just hard because there is very little room between the fly and the converter, the converter and fly spins when we are trying to get the bolt off, and it sucks becasue we are trying to do it under the car on our backs. lol sucks bad. lol but yah, maybe we can find a longer breaker bar that can fit under the car to help us out.
If you are pulling the engine without the trans. The torque converter bolts will have to be removed, and the converter left with the tranny. Once the converter is loose, push it back to the trans. This will keep it from binding when the engine is reinstalled.

Stick a screwdriver in the holes in the flexplate and let it come around till it hits the bellhousing. That's what I did when I pulled the engine in my blaxer. Unless you want to be brave and put the screwdriver in the teeth of the fly.
