Q's about new Torque converter and mail order tune??

do I need to tune my computer if I am switching my torque converter from stock to a 2400 lockup??? I honestly dont know anything about converters but the guy doing my rebuild said it would be a good idea.
Also how much of a performance gain is this going to be??? what are any and all differances in daily driving???
Thanks alot,
Steve

Steve,
No computer tuning is nessary. The lock up feature only saves you gas on the highy way or at a certain speed. My brother in law has a 2400 lock up tc and no computer mods were made. It runs like a champ. HTH
