Re: putting motor in through top...

prolly not. i have pulled a couple and put them back in hrough the top with heads on, but not the trans, so i dont know about that. i wouod recommend waiting until the engine is basically in place but hanging so it can move easy then put the headers in

getting the motor out with t-56 connected was very easy. angle was just right to get the trans out without hitting anything. I'll c about doing that and leaving it hang for header install. thanx

You can set the headers down in there after you put it back in, just leave it on the cherry picker so you can rock it around. I just installed mine back with heads and intake on and it was very easy. I have pics if you need them also. Just pm me and I will email them to ya. Hey 1Rcaerdude they have that same tool on tpis.com. Looks like me and you were referring to the same thing I bought this and it made it sooooo easy. Good luck bro

Yea had one for a couple of years seems like Auto Zone has them now.

Ya can lay the headers in the frame and tie them back and they will be there when ya are ready for them.

Re: putting motor in through top...

i did not use a happy hooker, but still idd it the "proper" way with a lifting chain. the only thing that hit the cowl was the beam of the hoist itself. it was designed a little weird, but if it were different, i don't think i would have has any problems. thanx. so without the happy hooker, cani put the motor in with intake on too?

Yes if ya got a metal spreader bar and hooked it to the exhaust front hole in the center 2 holes, and put a nylon ratchet strap around the balancer to angle it.Just don't angle it to much and flip it over backwards.
The spreader is to keep the chain off of the valve covers and intake.
Rig at your own risk!!!!!
Best to get the proper stuff it's only like $35.00 when I got mine. Eliminate the brain damage.
