Putting EGR back on the car

From what I read, the EGR system robs no power, the system doesn't do anything at WOT anyway. Why does everyone take it off? I can understand the air system, it helps clean the engine bay up. But what about the EGR? The 93 I just did, we took the EGR and AIR off it. He drives it to school, about 4 hours away. What would be the problem with putting EGR back on it? I know I would have to get a new tune for it, but what problems or horsepower would it lose?

thanks for any info.

Re: Putting EGR back on the car

As you said it wont loose any power. it just was easier in my case to pull it off the car and not hook it back up when installing headers.
Ive got a few questions for you ill call you later
