Put my new Pacesetter Headers on !!!!

I put my headers on this weekend. They are the longtube style. The install was fairly easy compared to some of the horror stories you hear about the hooker LT's. Here is a list of what I had to do:
After taking off the y-pipe and manifolds, on the drivers side I took out the spark plugs, oil filter, and oil sending unit. On the passenger side I took off the alternater, oil filler tube, and spark plugs. After that I jacked the car up and put the back tires on car ramps and put the front on tall jack stands. Both headers went in from the bottom very easily. As for a y-pipe I made my own, I stopped at the muffler shop and had him bend two 3" 45 degree bends about 18" to 20 " long . And I got a 24" straight piece of 3" pipe. Being a welder helps at this point....lol... Any ways I would highly recomend these headers.

Got me all excited now, cant wait to put mine in Just one question tho, what did you do for flanges on the collectors, or did you just weld the pipe up to them?

I guess I forgot a few details. I welded a set of 3 bolt flanges on the end of the headers. Also I extended my O2 sensor wires, about 14" on thedrivers side and about 20" on the passenger side. If you are not a welder I recomend taking it to a shop.

as for the starter there was no need to take it off, the header slid right in! again I say that these headers fit very nice!

Wow! I was being jokingly sarcastic because I just thought you forgot to mention that you removed it. I surprised you got it in that easy with the starter still there!

Yeah, the oil dipstick tube needs to come out before the manifolds come off.

As for the starter, I thought I might have to take it off, but with the car jacked up the header went right in without having to remove it.

Also, so far the car seems very responsive. The revs seem a little quicker.

That is AWSOME!!! I’m thinking about upgrading my headers with Pacesetters long tubes, they are so cheap. How long did the install take you? Also, do you have any pics?

Wow, you didn't have to remove the starter to put headers in, not to mention removing and installing sparkplugs ....now that is absofreakinlutely amazing! Good job. Just kinda curious, how is the header to plug clearance on those?

It looks like they have a real nice design.....no twisted primaries and no 90 degree bends anywhere, and from what I've heard the primaries are close to being equal lengths. Looks like I'm going with these.
