put my lt4 knock module in
put my lt4 knock module in
and it feels faster, but i think that may be because i want it to feel faster, my car only made 275 on the dyno, and i replaced the ignition system and got it tuned but still wasnt were i thought it should be. figured it could be picking up false knock. put it in, took it for a spin, well i thought it was faster, then my dad took it for a spin and said it seems to pull harder(he didnt know i did anything). could this make a noticible sotp gain?
Re: put my lt4 knock module in
not normally, you should not really feel a gain by the module however if yours always picked up knock, the new one will pick up less, thus keeping the pcm from pulling timing out.at that you may notice a gain.most of it is psycological
Re: put my lt4 knock module in
As you already know,It is a part used in the LT4 vette which is a desensitized (a cheap mod that works in filtering out false knock) version of the one used in the LT1 cars and it might be useful if you run roller rockers so the PCM doesn't see false knock due to the clatter from tailpipe rattle and other harmonics that can trigger the sensor.
With the LT4 knock module, the knock retard from false knock was eliminated and the car pulls hard, yes, absolutely..
Take care

LT4 KM helps with headers too.
You've got long tubes that might have fooled the LT1 KM into thinking the engine was knocking, causing the computer to retard the timing. If that was the case, the LT4 KM might have eliminated that, and gave you a HP boost.
