Pushrod lenght question

What type of effect would result from running a pushrod .100" to long.... other than wearing out your valve guides. I recently found out mine were to long , and I'm currently changing to the proper pushrod. It was like that for a few hundred miles. How would the overall performance be effected.

Thanks,Bill

Re: Pushrod lenght question

I couldn't imagine it would hurt anything for only a few hundred miles. If they were too long, the valve wouldn't seat. Not sure if 100 mils would cause that though. Seems like it would to me though.
