Here is a link to a good step-by-step removal process.

I just did this and the write-up above is helpful.

I used an $60 harbor freight ATV jack to lower the k-member and a floor jack under the tranny and lowered both pieces attached at the same time. No hoist needed.

Be prepared to undo a ton of crap and be able to get the front end high enough. Took maybe 5 hours at a steady pace.

I just did mine less than a month ago 95 6sp. This procedure that I did worked great! You can use the other links for pictures and where stuff is at. But I did the following different and it worked out great.1) I took the bumper cover and front bumper off(it helps with more room and its easy).2)Go get a pair of the black colored steel car dollies from harbor freight(on sale now 39.99) 3)cut a piece of 3/4inch plywood to lay inside one dollie(so it just fits length and width wise into the dolly) 4)chock the back wheels 5)put a small floor jack under the trans rear. 5) Now Just before you are ready to take out the k-member 6 bolts. Jack the front of the car, then put the wheel dollie with the plywood under the k-member. Then lower the whole weight of the car down on it. 6) unbolt the k-member and use a cherry picker to lift the front of the body. 7)raise it to 42.5 inches from the ground to the lower edge of the metal the bumper bolts to. 8)switch out the floor jack under the trans to the other wheel dolly. 9)roll it all out. I do have eibach sportline springs and 245/45/16 tires so my car height maybe different than yours. But those dollies were the exact height for me. Special thanks to fastzintennesee. He sent me a couple e-mails on some questions I had. I have taken many pictures during my process and would be glad to send them. Oh, one last thing I disconnected every electrical connector and pulled the whole harness back up over the passenger side fender. Instead of inside the car. It all needs to get disconnected from the engine at some point anyway and its one less thing to pinch going in and out.

I also pulled the harness up over the passenger fender. But I also took a piece of 1" masking tape and wrote what the connection went to on each and every wire--except the injector connectors which were already marked.

Be sure you have some PB Blaster just in case. I found it quite handy for the A/C and brake lines.
