Pulling the engine and trans?

Has anyone pulled the engine and trans together, if so how did it go?

I just pulled mine out last week and it was EASY. The engine and trans came out together, out the bottom. IMO out the bottom is the way to go. It makes disassembling all the accessories MUCH easier out of the car. I used a lift, but I have seen many posts where people have done it on the ground. I left the front wheels on and used a jack under the trans. After I raised the car up I wheeled the engine/trans out into the shop for disassembly. It took me about 4 hours to get the engine out, but I was taking my time. Just disconnect all the hoses, including a/c, lay the ECM on top of the engine, remove the abs and master cylinder, disconnect everything going to the trans, unbolt the struts and six cradle bolts, and lift the car off. Pretty simple. Do a search. I know that a couple of the members have sites with more in-depth descriptions and pictures. Good luck!!!

Thumbs up

Pulled mine out the bottom. Worked out great. Plenty of internet guides available too. I'm no pro either. Do a search and you will find links to guides for pulling out the bottom. Good luck

I've pulled mine 3 times, and every time we dropped the front suspension with it. The last time it took us about 2 1/2 hours (we used air tools). Its not a hard job, actually kinda easy
