Pulling Engine thru top: What did you do with POWER STEERING & A/C ? Alt Brkt stuck

Pulling out thru the top. I'm almost done, all the wiring's outta the way. I ended up breaking a couple of the brittle connectors Not sure if they can be replaced

Anyways, What did you do with the power steering pump, and A/C Compressor? I need to put the PS pump somewhere so I can get the ALT bracket off...

What all needs to be off the front? Does the Balancer have to be offf?

Also on the passenger side block, there's some kind of sensor w/ 1 wire, witha funky connector, how does that come undone??!

When i pulled a motor out of a 94 camaro the only thing off of it was the headers and intake. When I reinstalled it I had everything put together, the only thing i left off was the electric water pump (the base was there though)
The plug you might be refering to is the knock sensor, it should come off if you squeeze both sides of it (I think it has flat spots on the outside where you need to squeeze) When you do that it should just pop right off.

We just disconnected both the powersteering pump and AC condensor and let them hang in the bay. We took the bracket right off.

By the way. Could you give me a description or take a pic of how the accessory bracket mounts to the block, how many, size, bolts etc? All I have left is a bunch of bolts and bracket...

If the connector is grey its for the knock sensor.

I guess I shoulda been more patient before I BROKE the knock sensor

Looks like it'll still stay stuck on though.

I'll try and get some pics/descriptinos of the brackets for ya later

AC condensor is OK, it's the Compressor I'm trying to get off, along w/ the power steering pump. Need to at least get the p/s pump outta the way to get the alt bracket off...

You did go thru the top right?

hell, if I had a cherry picker this ****'d prolly come out now

Yeah pics would be a big help, hell even how many bolts each pulley needs would be good.

The compressor unbolts too, there is a bolt in back people usually forget...

Just so ya know ... If you remove the knock sensor from the block, it lets all the coolant drain out. You may or may not want that to happen

OK the PS pump moves freely in the bracket, as well as the AC compressor. I have 3 bolts out of the Bracket, how many are there?

theres a bolt on the backside of the compressor that mounts it to the block. Also you can leave the acc. bracket on the block. I pulled my motor with all accessories still attached. put it in that way too.

My mistake was there were 4 bolts not 3 like I thought. Igot the 4th one out and it came undone.

Did you leave the A/C, and PS in the car when you pulled the engine?

How did you leave all the accessories on? Did you pull it straight forward and up and out? Or did you have to turn it 90*?

straight forward up and out, no 90* stuff. put it in down straight as well did it all by myself too. took some muscling around to line it up but it went in fairly easy I left the hood on too.

hooked up to the engine? no left in the car sure. but I found it easier to drop the tranny when i put it back in. too much of a pain to line up the tranny, engine mounts etc.
