Pulleys or NOT?

I've heard of little or no gains by putting pulleys on Z's, is this true? Is it no where near the claim 15 hp?

No where near the claim of 15 HP. We pulled a belt off a car and dyno'd and I think it was a 8-10 hp difference, it wasn't huge. (But it was about 4 years ago that's why I can't remember the exact number).

wrong,A friend of mine lost 4 hp due to voltage drop when he tryed it on his 96 ta at the dyno. he let it idle for about the same time you would have to in the staging lanes and then did a pull, resulted in loss of hp.

It'll free up around 5-8 hp realistically, Ive had 2 Lt1 buddies have problems (altenator/charging), they were forced to remove them...both auto's 93 and a 94...But I also see alot on these boards have no problems at all...since Ive seen problems first hand I never thought so few power was worth the possible problems.

I don't think I'll ever mess with pullies. I have heard a few guys say they picked up a couple of horses on the dyno, but I've heard many more stories about how others lost some hp/car ran like crap/power loss, etc. Different for a Stang...pullies are pretty useful for them. Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on them.

I got a March pulley on mine, 94. Id say I got better response, 10 HP. Top end is definately more responsive. If you get one get a March pulley set...guarantee a charge at idle...

Pullies...

they can gain you some good decent power if you don't have allot of accessories. If you have a big stereo system you'll get those..running like crap...stalling ETC issues.
For the record I couldn't tell much of a Diff. with or without it...and I have no radio or anything to suck my Alti to death...but for 100 bucks a gain is a gain...so go for it.
