Exclamation PULLED HEADS...HAVE QUeSTIONS~!

Heads came off today, and there was a fair amount of coolant resting in the pistons reason heads were pulled was to replace gasket. There arent really any signs of internal damage at all. Should i be safe just swappin the gasket and puttin her back together?

Alot of the headbolts pass through the coolant passages on the block when you remove them the coolant in the block will leak into the cylenders. This is more than likely what youre seeing. I would oil my cylenders down good and turn the engine over by hand looking for visual cracks and large grooves that you can hang a fingernail on while you have it apart, then put it back together with new gaskets and youll be fine.

Whenever you pull the heads coolant will leak into the cylinders because of the coolant passage ways when you unbolt the bolts. I bet coolant poured everywhere including the ground as well, am I correct?

I allways tun a piston to the top, put rags in the adjouning pistons to catch debris ,as well as the lifter valley, then i spray it down good with chemtool and scrub the carbon off the pistons with a brass wire brush. OIl the cylender then down with motor oil and move on to the next cylender, change the oil before starting.

How do i raise each piston? remember that the engine is still in the engine bay. I am not that car literate when it comes to inside the motor.

is the Harmonic balancer or crank pulley still attached? If so than just turn it by hand, if you can't turen it by hand a 1/2" drive socket wrench will do just fine.
