Pulled heads - does this look normal?

Is the copper color area normal? I thought all of it would be covered with carbon. One guy told me that that is evidence of coolant leaking in. Anyone else?

IDNWFN (I do not work for Nu-Tek) but in general, having a completely clean combustion chamber is a sign that coolant is sloooowly seeping in and steam-cleaning the chamber and surface of the pistons on ignition. Might want to check your oil and make sure it's not gummed up.

On that note, that is NOT to say that is what's wrong with your heads... I'm just repeating what I read in the book I have about rebuilding LT1s.
