Puling Intake.

I think i had a lifter go bad on me and I'm going to have to pull the intake off of the car. Anyone have some good directions or advise.

I just pulled the intake off the car today, there really isnt that much work involved IMO. Theres like 12 bolts, keep track of which ones are studs and which ones aren't. Just disconnect the fuel lines with a fuel disconnect tool $6, undo the hoses and in the back of the intake manifold there is this metal line coming to the intake, unbolt that and lift up! Underneath it there are 3 lifter retainer bolts. Unbolt those and figure out which lifter you need to take out. You need to relieve tension by removing the pushrods for whatever lifter you want to replace. Just re install everything...


Make sure you use black RTV gasket maker on the front and back of the intake manifold!

The cam install here will show you how to remove the intake.
