ProForm rockers = junk

So I have done rockers a million times. For some reason I can't get these adjusted to the point were the car will even fire. It turns over and over, but no fire. I am getting spark and fuel. I see the valves opening and closing. What would cause the motor to do this? All I can think is that the rockers themselves aren't right.

This is on a buddy's car that got the rockers for free.

my friend uses the proforms,no problems. This sounds like an ignition problem,if the valves are opening then the rockers are doin there job.See if the opti and coil are connected. This honestly doesnt sound like anything mechanical

I'm guessing here. What if the rocker geometry is off and the rocker in't pushing down on the valve stem? So, the rocker is pushing down on the retainer and not opening the valve correctly.

I'm woundering are they opening fully. if the rocker isn't pushing on the valve stem and opening it completely. But this is a total reach.

I agree the proforms are junk!!. When you do finally get them set right they are going to be noisey as hell. I remember helping a friend with a set once and we had to grind a little out of them to get them to rotate correctly. We had to do this because the rocker's were hitting the pushrod. Thos's things are pure CRAP!!

If the rockers are opening the valves what makes you think the rockers are junk? I've had zero problems with mine.

My pro-Magnums are the noisiest things in the world. One of the best rockers in the world though also.

I would do a compression test on one of the cylinders to see if the valves are operating correctly. Also, did you check to see if the pushrods are straight? Roll them over a sheet of glass, I found 3 bent rods when rebuilding my engine.

My NSA Pro-Magnums are quiet as stock. We are taking these things off and putting the stockers back on. Fudge this to all hell.

-Shannon, The opti can't be off, we didn't touch it, it wasn't a cam change, just the roller rockers...

it could be that you tightened down the rockers too much, leaving the valves open @ TDC. Honestly this sounds more like a simple mistake then the rockers being "junk". My friend has the proforms and i have nothin but good things to say about those, quiet as stock even.RedHottG2 you sound like you have no idea what youre talkin about.
