Professional Products 52mm and 58mm Throttle Bodies for '92-'97. $180-$200

I saw this on drag racing on line website. It looks like Professional Products will be coming out with this in the near future, but its NOT yet listed on thier site. For more information visit www.professional-products.com

Here is the link where I saw this listed - http://www.dragracingonline.com/itsnew/viii_3-6.html

Professional Products has 52mm and 58mm dual-bore Power™ Throttle Bodies for '92-'97 LT1 and '85-'92 GM 305/350 engines. These lightweight aluminum throttle bodies are OE quality or better and conveniently include duplicate linkages so that they can be used on various year models.
Professional Products expects polished Power™ Throttle Bodies to retail for approximately $200 and the satin finish version for approximately $180 at high-performance retailers throughout the US and Canada.

I had bought a Pro Products intake manifold for my 5.0 Mustang a couple of years ago. It was designed like the Edelbrock Performer intake. The ports on it were a little uneven, and I cleaned them up with a dremel, but for half the price of the Edelbrock intake I was happy with it overall. Pro Products parts are a good way to go if you are trying to save some money.

There was a thread on these a while back. It was decided that they were cheap chinese crap. Im personally going to pay another $100 to get a good quality part.

I beg to differ! I bought a professional products regular damper for like 70 bucks online from a different shop. Well, it shewed up my opti, so I called professional products directly. Turns out I was the third person to call about this issue. I took pics, sent them in. Two weeks later I had a brand new opti show up in the mail! The whole thing, not just the cap! then, they retooled, redesigned the damper so that this wouldn't happen again, and then they sent me out the SFI one for my troubles! So, for 70 bucks I got two dampers, and a new GM opti. Trust me guys, these guys are ligit! There products are top notch. The only reason I had trouble was becuase they are new on the market with dampers, and they must have missed something for my model year. So, in short, the products are high quality, and very very nice looking. I was actually gonna buy their 58mm TB if the dyno shows I need it. Very nice parts, and atractive prices too! They are new, like I said, so you are not buying a name, you are buying a great part!

Just my opinion... and experience, so take it for what its worth! If you ever have problems, they will help you out! To me, that is more important than having the damn thing say Holley. I could care less... I want best bang for the buck!

Subscribing to this thread. I'll buy one of these if my car needs it- no sense in paying a premium for a part that does the exact same thing if I don't have to.

I was looking into buying one of there dampers. Just out of curiosity, do you know if they sell a one piece underdrive damper for the LT1?

no, only two piece, becuase theres is cheaper because it fits the f-body LT1, the Y body LT1 and the B body LT1. Being able to fit all LT1's make it cheaper to make, so cheaper for us! So, its two peice. Sorry bud.

I hope you aren't serious. Professional Products has been importing Chinese made copies of American designed products since at least the early 90s. They started out by directly copying the design of the Edelbrock 2101 SBC intake and outsourcing the design to China. Edelbrock tried to sue and lost and PP was allowed to continue copying Edelbrock's designs as long as everything wsa built in China. Look at their intakes. They're all exact copies of Edelbrock except they're built to very poor specs. The ports are often offset in relation to the cylinder head and there is almost always casting flash left in the runners.

I doubt I'll be the first guinea pig to snag one (not in a hurry to get a TB) but I wouldn't mind buying one if reviews say they're decent. I'm hoping they actually hit the Net lower than $180, that would be a great deal unless it's totally poorly made.

Nice company, Do we really need to fund another company that makes all it parts overseas let alone china. They steal an idea and then want to put other american companies out of business.

You get what you pay for.

Will not be on my car.

Re: Professional Products 52mm and 58mm Throttle Bodies for '92-'97. $180-$200

I had no idea about the intakes. I would love to see some hard evidence, and not some internet jockey spilling his theories to everyone. I am a fuel injection person, carbs suck in my opinion. If carbs were so great, then why is everything fuel injected? Anywho, I guess its personal preference. I think some of you need to take classes on "globalization." It has been going on for quite some time now. Competition is what makes companies become more effecient. The winner of more efficient producers??? CONSUMERS there brain surgeons! Better effieciency equals lower production costs, lower production costs equal cheaper parts for the consumers. IF one company can't keep up with another, the less efficient company goes out of buisness. There is a fine line between a company making money, and then a monopoly. I realize the general american opinion is that all of our jobs are fleeing the country. But, think about it. Do you want to work in the textile industry?? how about other hard manual labor jobs with low pay? Probably not. That is why companies outsource. Its just smart business. That gives americans jobs to make high end machinery to sell overseas, and maintain, and all that stuff. But, I realize this is better left for another site. From what I have seen, those people who continue their education learn these things, those that haven't continued their education continue to be ignorant. (NOT DIGGING ON ANYONE ON THIS SITE, JUST A WELL PROVEN FACT)

Nuff said. If we want to continue reviews and opinions on the part itself, Im game. If we want to sit and b*tch about american jobs this and american jobs that, I don't have time for that crap. Take a college course or two, or hell buy some books to learn about how big business really works!

Everyone has their own opinions, some have a leg to stand on, some are just personal feelings. Lets just leave that crap on the side, and discuss what everyone wants to know, if these parts work as they are supposed to...
Agreed?
