My 93 z28 recentlystarted having probs when trying to start in the morning (especially in cold weather). I thought it was a bad injector, but after doing a dio check i recieved code 36, 41, 42, and 63. The car starts and immediately dies, backfires, hesitates onces started, and has very irractic idling. I checked on shoebox site and i'm about to try to diagnose the opti, but i have never had to do anything to an opti but change a broken coil wire. Please help i love my 93, and i love driving it. Any advice to make the dio go smoothly will be helpful. I have a mulitmeter. I do electrical work at my job, but on machine not cars. I understand most of the terms i'm just not to familiar with the location of some of the connections (mainly the icm and pcm connections)

 

3 of the 4 codes you mentioned have the #11 U/H 10 amp fuse in common.

 

i change the coil but i am still getting 36 and 63 code. what should i do next

 

Check the opti wire harness for a loose connection or corrosion.

 

ok i started the opti test psoted on the site and the first step is the check the to check the signal from pcm to icm on the white wire for 4v. i never got the 1 to 4v. i then proceeded to the next step which is finding the 12v on the icm to coil wire. i received 12v on one side but not on the other.
